All meaning in the universe is user-generated, not user-discovered. There is nothing to find. There is only what you build, what you assert, what you choose to treat as mattering.
TMD Press firmly asserts that meaningless or useless suffering—of or caused by an individual—is unacceptable. Suffering is meaningless when it degrades agency without building capacity, when it serves no purpose the sufferer can integrate, or when it is imposed without consent and offers no path to growth or understanding.
This press operates on four principles:
You are responsible for the choices available to you within the systems you occupy. Your capacity to choose is real but bounded—by biology, by circumstance, by the architecture of the systems you navigate. Agency is not infinite optionality. It is the work of understanding your actual degrees of freedom and exercising them deliberately.
Growth requires deliberate discomfort. Convenience is not the highest good.
Understand how things actually work, not how they claim to work.
Your attention, your data, your participation—all require informed, revocable agreement.
Agency does not mean your choices operate in a vacuum. Sovereignty includes understanding that your actions reshape shared systems. You are not responsible for others' feelings, but you are responsible for recognizing when patterns signal incompatibility, friction, or relational drift.
TMD Press publishes work that shows systems operating as they are—coastal light, feudal residue, domestic machinery, institutional drift—without romanticism or condemnation. We document what's here. We do not explain it.
The work is designed to interrupt habituation. You have been trained to stop noticing what operates below the threshold of polite conversation. We make that machinery visible.
We do not provide answers, theses, or conclusions. You do the assembly work. Maximum discomfort. No resolution. If the work does not resolve, that is not a failure—that is the design.
Equanimity is not serenity. Equanimity is the state you achieve when you stop pretending your current understanding is permanent. The flag shifts with new information. The sovereign holds.
This press exists because these principles are not being served elsewhere.
Entry into the TMD Press universe requires agency and mental architecture capable of working without resolution. Some will read this and recognize it is not for them. That is fine. This press serves those it serves.
